Our Story

Born from a ride. Built on love.

Rodger and his son Reed have always shared a deep bond — and for years, that connection was most alive on two wheels. Almost every weekend, you could find them riding along the shores of Lake Michigan from Whitefish Bay into downtown Milwaukee. Reed would ride on the back of Rodger’s cargo bike, soaking in the open air and the rhythm of the road – all accompanied by the iconic sounds of Frank Sinatra’s Live at the Sands.

They weren’t just riding. They were sharing joy — with each other, their friend Bob and with every stranger who caught a glimpse of their journey.

But as Reed grew, the rides became harder. Lafayette Hill and Water Tower Road weren’t so easy to climb anymore. The question became more persistent: How can we keep riding together?

Rodger knew it was time for Reed to take a more active role in pedaling, but the answer was not easy given his abilities.  When searching local bike shops, there were few options; sometimes none.  After exhaustive research, Rodger found an adaptive tandem bike made by Van Raam in the Netherlands.  It seemed perfect in every way – all except finding a way to buy it.  After five years of trying, several bike dealers and one pandemic later – Let Us Ride was born.

Let Us Ride only sells Van Raam adaptive bikes from the Netherlands.  What makes us unique is our business, too, is on wheels!  We bring the bikes to you!  Whether attending events or coming individually to your location; we are breaking down the barriers of purchasing adaptive bikes.
